Can I bring a swiss army knife into the United States? Airport security?

Will it go through airport security? Someone told me I probably won’t be able to take it with me when I fly into the States in August. Is that true?

why do you even need it, dork? do you plan on surviving in the forest somewhere? leave it home!
Of course you can bring it into the US. However, you must bring it in your checked luggage, it will not be allowed in your carry-on bag.
Unless you are a member of the Canadian military, for which a Swiss Army Knife is a required part of the uniform, AND are wearing that uniform AND carrying proper ID showing you are a member of the Canadian military, you can’t take it with you in carry-on baggage. You can probably have it in a checked bag, however.
