Knife Review: Spyderco Tenacious G10 Liner Lock Folder C122G
My thoughts and views on the Spyderco Tenacious C122G folding knife. What is there left to be said about such a hugely popular knife? Honestly, not too much. The virtues of this blade have been discussed ad nauseam. However, as I have owned this knife for some time and have become quite a fan, I feel it only necessary to offer my own spin on things and at the very least, give some video love to a truly excellent piece of folding cutlery. At 4oz and with almost 3.5″ of wide, slice-y blade, the Tenacious cuts with the best of them. It sharpens quickly, carries easily and absolutely won’t break the bank. This reviewer found his online for under US, including shipping. I’ve been using mine as a work knife, mostly shaving wood from survey lath and opening and breaking down cardboard boxes. It’s also found its way into the kitchen on more than one occasion and is well-suited to slicing and dicing produce and meat. I love the overall sturdiness and comfort of the Tenacious; it feels great in my hands and I have every confidence that it will hold up to years of steady, rugged use. There are several other knives in the same “series” as the Tenacious, including the Ambitious (2.25″), Persistence (2.75″), and Resilience (4.25″), but this one seems to fill that “middle” role best, and is a great compromise between size, weight, and edge length. I can wholeheartedly recommend the entire series though and any of them would make a great knife; it really only depends on what size you …

Very detailed and in-depth review, great job man! I lol’d when you self-referenced your channel name…hahaha. I also like how easy 8cr13mov steel is to sharpen and it takes a wicked edge. May not keep it forever, but hey like you said, I think it’s fun to sharpen stuff too. It’s kinda like a form of meditation for us knife junkies!
@WeaversofEternity Thanks! Ha ha, yeah, I cringed when I realized I’d said it but, oh well! As for meditation, you’re right: it’s very soothing and once you get going, you can sort of “zone out”.
I have the ontario rat 1, and im getting the tenacious so i kind of went in reverse order than you did the rat 1 is great i suggest you pick one up as soon as you need a new knife.
@jtrocks2 Yes, I definitely want to try one out. I love the handle shape. I just wish it was lighter — 5oz seems kinda heavy for the size. For a work knife though, it’d be perfect. Thanks!
Very informative review. The Tenacious is a tough knife. Its one of the best cutters I have ever tried. No bells and whistles, but if you want a comfortable positive grip in hand budget cutter then here ya go. Take care buddy!
@beactivelife Thanks very much!
This is a great knife i love my Tenacious! It is one of my favorite edc’s. One of the best knives for the cost. Thx a lot for the great review.
