I know that the Swiss Army Knives have the term "knives" in it, but I was wondering if Victorinox (the company that makes them) produce any Swiss Army Knives (SAK’s) without a blade (a non-lethal one, so to speak).
I’ve seen several good-looking and useful SAK’s (some came with flashlights, scissors, and even USB drives), but they all came standard with a blade, which I do not want.
If there is no such model, is there a possibility (that doesn’t involve any risk of breaking it) to disassemble the parts and remove the blade itself? Thanks, any answer is appreciated. =]
I bought a swiss army knife at a flea market today, and it IS a victorinox, I can tell that. However, I’d like to know what kind. It has a little image of a jet on it (well, some aircraft, looks like a jet to me). It is either a 3 1/4 or a 3 1/2 inch knife. It has:
toothpick
Tweezers
Small blade
Large Blade
Phillips Screw driver
Scissors
Can opener with small screw driver
file
Bottle opener with large screwdriver and wire stripper
Reamer
Wood saw
And one unidentified object.
Anyone know what it is?
My family agrees that it looks like a space shuttle. Please! Anybody! If someone has the correct answer, I’ll choose you as best answer!
My SAK (It’s a Victorinox SwissChamp XLT) has a bit of play in the large blade, small blade, can opener, and metal saw. This is my first slip-joint, and I’m not sure if a slight amount of blade play is normal or not. If not, how can it be fixed?
A cool blue Alox handled Swiss Army knife would be a welcome addition in the woods or farm. The tough handles enclose some essential and useful tool like flat bladed drivers, can opener, large utility blade, saw (!), and the ever-useful punch awl. At 3.0 ounces it’s not the lightest SAK and some may be considering a more useful option like the excellent Leatherman S2 Juice for just a bit more weight but a lot more utility. But if this has your choice of tools in it, the Farmer is an affordable way to scratch your Swiss Army knife itch and maybe mend a fence while you’re at it./////////////Nutnfancy Likeability Scale: 7 out of 10
