Wenger Newranger 61 folding knife review

Review of the Wenger NewRanger 61 Folding knife. • Genuine Swiss-made knife just like Victorinox • Victorinox & Wenger have been making Swiss army knifes since 1908 • Wenger was bought by Victorinox in 2005 • Boxed version: sold in plastic blisters as well • Box shows Ranger 68 (wrong model) • Medium size, one-handed opening camping knife • 4 inch blade (not legal in some countries like the UK) • Unknown steel composition • Rather thin • Cheap, plastic grips Features: • Small keyring: no pocket/belt clip • Easy to open • “Ring safety lock” • Screwdriver • Caplifter • Wire stripper • Corkscrew • Can opener • Reamer / awl with sewing eye Pro’s: • Cheap (approx ,- in June 2010) • Good size • Capabilities for a camping knife are ok Con’s: • Cheap grips/material • Unknown metal • No pocket/belt clip • Ergonomics: right hand use only
