Knife Review: Victorinox Rally Swiss Army Knife

My thoughts and views on the Victorinox Rally Swiss Army Knife. At just a little over 2 inches, Victorinox’s keychain Swiss Army knives have been a staple of many folks’ key rings for decades. They’re light, slim, easy to carry and pack a ton of useful features in a tiny package. Perhaps the most popular of all is the Classic model. However, I submit that the Rally model will very likely offer more utility at a very similar price. The Classic’s scissors probably won’t be missed — after all, the blade will very likely cover the majority of most folks’ cutting needs. However, the addition of a stout and effective bottle opener, Phillips screwdriver, and wire stripper offer a lot more bang for your buck in this reviewer’s opinion. (By the way, if you absolutely must “have it all”, look for the Victorinox Rambler, which blends the best of both worlds by including the scissors and screwdriver/bottle opener/wire stripper in an ever-so-slightly thicker package.) This is my take on the good and bad of the Victorinox Super Tinker Swiss Army Knife. My favorite features on the knife are the usability of the perfectly EDC sized knife blade, the precise scissors, and the all around excellent Philips screwdriver. the main dislike I have is that the knife blade is not lockable. The blade has remained sharp through a good week of cutting, which is very surprising to me. At around the price range, this is a steal. Filmed with a Canon Powershot sx230 hs camera.

Leatherman Squirt S4 vs. Micra: Cute vs. Capable

Two outstanding keychain sized multi-tools are represented in the Leatherman Squirt S4, and Leatherman Micra. With a practically identical feature set, and the Leatherman stamp of quality backing them both, how does one choose between them? In this video, I compare the two tools, and explore the strengths and weaknesses (albeit few) of each to help you make a decision about which one best suits your needs.
