On a road trip through Colorado, the better half and myself stopped in the Wenger Store at the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. It was a perfect day in the mountains to drool over Wenger Swiss Army knives and other gear. Of course I couldn’t leave without picking up a “Handyman”. They also gave both my wife and I one of the small Evolution style knives like the ones stuck in the “Knife Poles”. It was worth the stop just to see the “Giant Knife”!
Here is a nice review on the classic Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. I think almost everyone has had one of these at one point in their life. A great little knife with a lot of functions for being so small. It’s got a scissors, knife, file, screwdriver, toothpick, tweezers, and it has a key ring.
I currently have a Swiss Army Knife Deluxe Tinker which is great, but I hate that it doesn’t have locking blades or a saw. Can anyone suggest a good multitool with these features:
locking blade that’s at least 2 inches (preferrably serrated, although I do like those sharp/serrated combo blades)
saw
pliers
scissors
phillips/flathead screwdiver, I don’t really care for extra bits.
metal file
I’m just planning on using this for everyday activities, nothing too serious or outdoorsy. Seems like the leatherman wave fits the bill, but it’s a tad large for pocket carrying. Can anyone recommend anything?
I just got a Wenger brand swiss army knife which i’m pretty sure is the classic 07 model. When i look it up on Wenger’s website it said it should have a toothpick and tweezers, whick i can’t see anywhere. I also have a victorinox one and it’s toothpick and tweezers are kept in slots at both ends but on the Wenger i just don’t see that.
PS If it’s not the Classic model 07 i don’t know what it is. It has the Knife, nail file, scissors, bottle opener, flat head screwdriver, corkscrew and a fishing pick thing
Bonus if it meet the following preferences:
Under
Available in a pattern or multiple colors
Includes a knife (my old one didn’t have a knife, was just a manicure tool) & scissors
I really like this one, but alas, no fingernail clippers: http://www.swissknifeshop.com/gift-ideas/for-her/swiss-army-argyle-classic-sd
