Do I need to tell the desk attendants that I put 2 small swiss army pocket knives in one of my check-in bags?

(Don’t worry. It’s for camping)

is there a law prohibiting carrying of swiss knives?

Swiss Army Knives: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!?

So, I want to get my boyfriend a swiss army pocket knife for christmas (way to wait till the last minute, huh?)
I’m looking on their website…

http://www.swissarmy.com/multitools/Pages/default.aspx?category=multitools&

….and I am SOOO OVERWHELMED!!!! Holy S*** I had NO IDEA there were so many effin choices!!! good god…
So, any guys (or girls!) who know about this kind of stuff, please help…

About my boyfriend: 22 yr old grad student, studying physical chemistry, real science nerd. That being said, he’s not the puny kid in glasses you might think he is, but is instead an ex-wrestler who enjoys doing things outside, and doing things with this hands. He doesn’t get to go outside much, b/c he is in his lab all the time. They’ve pretty much recruited him as the "mechanic" of the lab, b/c he is so good at doing things with his hands, fixing things, tinkering around with machinery, etc. He is also a computer nerd haha.
….but it’s not like he’s going outside and setting up camp everynight, and he doesn’t go hunting or anything like that…
does enjoy fishing every now and then…

picking locks…

So, WHICH KNIFE!?!? thanks :)
what do you think of this one???

Do all Swiss Army (pocket) knives have this?

i have one of the smaller ones, and on the (flip out) blade it says "Dieffenbacher"

i got the knife from my grandfather when i was young so im not sure if it was specially engraved or if its just the name of some manufactering company or somthing like that…

(its like this one:)

..except it only has a phile, knife blade, and scissors

Can anyone who is familiar with this brand tell me what is the difference between "Do-it-Yourself" and "Outdoors" printed on the packaging of these knives? I bought a Super Tinker and it said "do it yourself" on top of it and 14 functions under it.
Ex. http://cgi.ebay.com/Victorinox-Swiss-Army-Tinker-with-LED-flashlight-NEW_W0QQitemZ300286387661QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item300286387661&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A15|39%3A1|240%3A1318

I was surfing the net and I saw some knives from the brand that says "Outdoors" instead of the other.
Ex. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=220345599029

So tell me what is the difference? I don’t get it cause they would advertise the knife as for camping, hunting, fishing, etc. so why would they separate these knives into 2 categories?

Thank you!
i.e. The Super Tinker I bought has 14 functions AND it came w/ Simmons binocular… so what I was confused was mine say "Outdoors" due to the binoculars?
