Tabletop review of the Snap-On 3 piece multi tool set available from Costco Wholesale. This set consists of three multitools plus a nylon pouch which retails for about . While I wasn’t expecting the top quality of a Leatherman or Victorinox multitool, I did have high hopes for this top branded import. Unfortunately, I was let down, even for the price. This third part of three videos centers around the keychain tool. Ironically, it has two of the best screwdriver bits of all three tools, but its bulk vs. capability means you’re just too likely to leave it at home. This tool could do in a pinch as a backup tool, it just doesn’t make the grade for something critical like a bug-out-bag or everyday carry. My rating: 3 out of 10. Sorry, Snap-On; you make some great tools, but this just isn’t among them. If you like this video, please rate, subscribe, and comment! And all due respect to nutnfancy for his top notch videos and reviewing style!
The Victorinox Farmer pocket knife has the excellent looking Silver Alox Ribbed handles, which make for a very slim knife. The design is very eye grabbing, especially comparing it to the typical red Victorinox scales. The tools are simple, but highly effective. The standout tool is the Reamer – which creates a perfectly round hole in wood and also other similar materials. I even used it to drill out a lanyard hole in my Mora Bushcraft Knife. The typical bottle and can opener is included, as well as a standard flathead screwdriver (which has a wire stripper on it). The straight blade has a 2.5″ cutting edge on it. And last but not least is the wood saw. I have used mine to saw through 2-3″ wood branches with no problems. It definitely will not replace a dedicated wood saw, but it certainly will get the job done if it is all that you have. The drawback for me was that because of the slim scales, there is no tweezers or a toothpick. However that is a small price to pay for such a great knife. I think this would make a great companion knife for hiking, or even a great EDC knife. Thanks for watching, be safe, and Peace! Filmed with Canon SX230 HS camera.
Time to raid the Lindor chocolates again in the Victorinox booth. Oh wait, white chocolate?! Maybe not. But Becky is our good host again for this quick check in this year with Victorinox. Spurned on by the popularity gained in TNP, Becky tells us Vicotorinox is planning to re-issue the Cadet (my ever present “rescue” tool) in some great new colors! Great news and prepare to add to your collections. Then we do a quick run down of the new stuff with V. and then make plans for a TNP Giveaway for May 2012. How about we do 10 Black Victorinox Rescue tools? Victorinox Becky is a great host again and you can thank HER for the upcoming Giveaway!
This is my take on the good and bad of the Victorinox Super Tinker Swiss Army Knife. My favorite features on the knife are the usability of the perfectly EDC sized knife blade, the precise scissors, and the all around excellent Philips screwdriver. the main dislike I have is that the knife blade is not lockable. The blade has remained sharp through a good week of cutting, which is very surprising to me. At around the price range, this is a steal. Filmed with a Canon Powershot sx230 hs camera.
