This is a video unboxing of the Victorinox – Huntsman (Swiss Army Knife) I bought this for £20.60 GBP here is the link to the page: www.amazon.co.uk This knife is 9cm in length and contains the following tools: -6cm Large Knife -3.5cm Small Knife -7cm Wood Saw -Can Opener -Bottle Opener with Wire Stripper -Small and Large flat head Screwdriver -Multi Purpose Hook -Tweezers -Toothpick -Corkscrew -Reamer punch with Sewing Eye I highly recommend this knife to all campers and climbers especially, we all know from the film 127 Hours what this knife could have solved.
The Victorinox Farmer pocket knife has the excellent looking Silver Alox Ribbed handles, which make for a very slim knife. The design is very eye grabbing, especially comparing it to the typical red Victorinox scales. The tools are simple, but highly effective. The standout tool is the Reamer – which creates a perfectly round hole in wood and also other similar materials. I even used it to drill out a lanyard hole in my Mora Bushcraft Knife. The typical bottle and can opener is included, as well as a standard flathead screwdriver (which has a wire stripper on it). The straight blade has a 2.5″ cutting edge on it. And last but not least is the wood saw. I have used mine to saw through 2-3″ wood branches with no problems. It definitely will not replace a dedicated wood saw, but it certainly will get the job done if it is all that you have. The drawback for me was that because of the slim scales, there is no tweezers or a toothpick. However that is a small price to pay for such a great knife. I think this would make a great companion knife for hiking, or even a great EDC knife. Thanks for watching, be safe, and Peace! Filmed with Canon SX230 HS camera.
My review of the Victorinox Swiss Army One Hand Trekker NS (the NS indicates it has a Non Serrated blade). This model features the Camo Handle, the Trekker is also available with black handle scales. Both the blade and the large screwdriver/bottle open lock into place using a liner lock.As the name indicates, the blade can be opened with one hand, but don’t expect it to fast opening like other knives. In practice I don’t see this is a downside to this tool. This video includes testing of the bottle opener, can opener, and the wood saw. The more I carry and use the Trekker, the more I like it. It is high quality and the sheer practicality is hard to beat. It is a great tool to have in the pocket in many situations such as EDC, hiking, camping, geocaching (the tweezers are great for extracting logs from those pesky micro and nano caches). Sure it’s a little heavy and bulky compared to other folding knives, but it is much more than just a knife. It is a multi function tool that delivers a lot of capability. I think this more than makes up for any size and weight issues. I highly recommend this excellent tool, they are great value and if cared for should last a lifetime.
